Where to watch Buster Keaton movies free

Buster Keaton (1895-1966), "the Great Stone Face", wrote, directed and performed his own stunts in some of the most inventive comedies ever made. His independent features of the 1920s, The General above all, regularly appear on critics' lists of the greatest films of all time.

New to Keaton? Start with Sherlock Jr. (45 minutes), then The General. The shorts run about 20 minutes each, ideal for a first taste. Most are silent films presented with a piano score; Spite Marriage (1929) has a synchronized score, and Free and Easy (1930) is his first talking picture.
