About Sol Levante
Sol Levante is a hand-drawn Japanese fantasy anime short from Production I.G, the studio behind Ghost in the Shell, made with Netflix in 2020 and written and directed by Akira Saitoh, with character design by Hisashi Ezura. A young warrior and her familiar search for a sacred place said to grant wishes, crossing a land watched over by ancient guardian spirits that are best left unprovoked. It was one of the first hand-drawn anime made natively in 4K HDR, and its story moves from dawn through a dark day and night to sunrise, carried by an orchestral score by Emily Rice. It airs on Starlite TV's New Indie Shorts channel (CH 13).
