Valkaama

About Valkaama

Valkaama is a 2010 independent road movie written, directed and shot by Tim Baumann from a story by Hendrik Behnisch. Lasse, a restless Swedish poet, has wandered the world for years, yet the only home his heart recognises is Valkaama, a mysterious place in northern Finland that a childhood prophecy promised him. When he sets out on one last journey north, a cynical stranger from Gothenburg takes the place of the friend who was meant to travel with him, while Runa, the young woman he left behind in Halmstad, follows his trail toward Lapland. Quiet and melancholy, it unfolds across wide Scandinavian landscapes to an atmospheric score by Michael Georgi. It airs on Starlite TV's New Indie Shorts channel (CH 13).
