"Jed Buys the Freeway" is episode 23 of season 1 of The Beverly Hillbillies, first broadcast on February 27, 1963 on CBS. It was directed by Richard Whorf and written by Paul Henning.

Harry Jones (Jesse White) arrives at the mansion and pretends to be an old family friend. Meanwhile, Miss Jane tells Drysdale about a conman named Harry Jones who is in the area. Harry suggests to Jed that he buy the Hollywood Bowl from him because Pearl could do her yodeling there and sell tickets. Harry and the family drive there to take a look. They get out onto the stage of the Bowl and are very impressed.

The Beverly Hillbillies (CBS, 1962-71) follows Jed Clampett (Buddy Ebsen), a mountaineer who strikes oil and moves his family, Granny (Irene Ryan), daughter Elly May (Donna Douglas) and nephew Jethro (Max Baer Jr.), to a mansion in Beverly Hills, next door to his banker, Milburn Drysdale. It was the top-rated show in America in its first two seasons.
