About Felix Doubles for Darwin (1924)

Felix the Cat was the first cartoon superstar. Created at Pat Sullivan's studio, where Otto Messmer did most of the animating, the black cat with the wide grin starred in well over a hundred silent shorts in the 1920s, famous for surreal gags in which Felix turns his own tail into whatever tool he needs.

Hungry Felix responds to an advertisement in the newspaper promising a reward for proof that "Man Comes from Monkey". His search for proof takes him to South Africa via a Trans-Atlantic cable.
