About Felix Goes West (1924)

Felix the Cat was the first cartoon superstar. Created at Pat Sullivan's studio, where Otto Messmer did most of the animating, the black cat with the wide grin starred in well over a hundred silent shorts in the 1920s, famous for surreal gags in which Felix turns his own tail into whatever tool he needs.

Hungry Felix tries to steal some food and fails. He then decides to "Go West" to "The Land of Opportunity" by hitching a ride on an airplane. When he gets to his destination, he has encounters with the local wildlife and Indians.
