About Felix the Cat: Felix Revolts (1923)

Felix the Cat was the first cartoon superstar. Created at Pat Sullivan's studio, where Otto Messmer did most of the animating, the black cat with the wide grin starred in well over a hundred silent shorts in the 1920s, famous for surreal gags in which Felix turns his own tail, or a question mark floating over his head, into whatever tool he needs.

People of the city ban cats, and Felix lets them know that life isn't so great without cats.
