"Jed's Dilemma" is episode 17 of season 1 of The Beverly Hillbillies, first broadcast on January 16, 1963 on CBS. It was directed by Richard Whorf and written by Paul Henning & Phil Shuken.

Granny and Cousin Pearl are at each other's throats over who's going to take care of cooking and the house. Jethrine is singing and Granny tells Pearl she sounds like she's sick. Jed tries to calm things down by taking the family on a sightseeing tour of Beverly Hills. But the truck is out of gas. Jed puts some of Granny's moonshine in the truck just so they can get to a gas station.

The Beverly Hillbillies (CBS, 1962-71) follows Jed Clampett (Buddy Ebsen), a mountaineer who strikes oil and moves his family, Granny (Irene Ryan), daughter Elly May (Donna Douglas) and nephew Jethro (Max Baer Jr.), to a mansion in Beverly Hills, next door to his banker, Milburn Drysdale. It was the top-rated show in America in its first two seasons.
