About The Christmas Dream
The Christmas Dream (Le Rêve de Noël) is a 1900 French silent féerie by Georges Méliès, sold by his Star Film company as a grand spectacle in 20 tableaux. Two children are tucked into bed and dream of the season: a parade of dancing toys, angels on snowy rooftops, bell-ringers calling the village to midnight Mass, a feast where a beggar is welcomed in, and a giant Christmas tree. Méliès himself appears twice, as the wizard and as the beggar. It airs on Starlite TV's Silent Pictures channel (CH 12).
