About Family Room

Family Room is the channel for watching together. Its schedule mixes storybook classics, gentle comedies and modern animated shorts, chosen so that parents can leave it on without worrying about what comes next. Prime time is earlier here — 6 to 9pm Pacific — to suit younger viewers.

Highlights include Shirley Temple in The Little Princess (1939), the silent Peter Pan (1924), the 1916 Snow White and Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor in Father's Little Dividend (1951), alongside open movies from the Blender Studio such as Big Buck Bunny, Spring and the Caminandes llama cartoons. These modern shorts are released under Creative Commons licences, and their credits are shown on each page and in the player.

The horror and crime titles found elsewhere on Starlite TV stay on their own channels. Every title is public domain in the U.S. or openly licensed.
