About Space Live

Space Live is Starlite TV's channel for spaceflight as it happens. Whenever NASA is broadcasting, the channel plays NASA's official live stream from NASA's own YouTube channel - rocket launches, spacewalks, dockings, splashdowns, mission briefings and the round-the-clock views from cameras on the International Space Station. The stream is shown in YouTube's standard player, unchanged, with no ads of ours on or around it.

When NASA is not live, or a live stream ends or drops, the channel switches by itself to archived NASA films on a regular TV schedule: Mercury and Gemini mission reports, the Apollo films from Apollo 4 through Apollo 17, Skylab, the first Space Shuttle flights and the Mariner 10 visit to Mercury. Like everything else on Starlite TV, those films are free to show: they were made by NASA, and works of the U.S. federal government are in the public domain. While the archive is playing, the player checks for a live stream again every 10 minutes, so you can leave the channel on and live coverage will take over once it begins.

How to catch a launch: NASA publishes its upcoming broadcasts on nasa.gov/live and on its YouTube channel, usually days in advance, and launch coverage typically begins an hour or more before liftoff. Launch times can move by minutes or days because of weather or technical checks, so check NASA's schedule on the day. When NASA's coverage is live, it plays on this channel. The YouTube player starts muted - use its own volume button to turn the sound on, and its full-screen button to watch full screen.

Video: NASA. NASA does not endorse Starlite TV, and Space Live is not affiliated with NASA. The channel is available on the Starlite TV website only; the Roku app does not carry it because YouTube streams cannot play there.
