About Dusty Trails

Dusty Trails is Starlite TV's western channel, covering the genre from its very first film to its post-war prime. The Great Train Robbery (1903), one of the earliest narrative films and a landmark western, shares the schedule with silent epics like John Ford's The Iron Horse (1924), early-sound spectacles and the fast, cheerful B-westerns that filled Saturday matinees in the 1930s.

John Wayne fans are well served: the channel includes The Big Trail (1930), his first starring role, filmed in an early widescreen process; several of his 1930s B-westerns; and Angel and the Badman (1947), which he also produced. Tuesday nights are Duke Tuesday in prime time.

Every western on Dusty Trails is public domain in the U.S., and each has a page with showtimes, background and rights evidence. Pull up a chair and ride along with whatever is on.
